I haven’t been able to find a Die Box that I REALLY liked for a long time. THIS box is excellent and the price is RIGHT! What you get is a handcrafted mahogany four door die box with all the goodies. Extra ‘fake’ in the door, etc. This is a full size box with an excellent white die with black dots. If you have wanted to add Die Box to your show, you really should give this a try.

Effect: In front of you is a hat or box. You display a beautiful wooden box that has two doors in front and two door on top. Thus the box can be opened to show that it is empty. You now display a large white die that fits perfectly into one side of the rectangular box. You show ALL sides of the die and ask whether your audience would like to see the die FLY visibly or invisibly into the hat? They of course say VISIBLY....so you set the die visibly into the hat. O.k., funny gag. You remove the die and place it into the Die Box closing all the doors. Now, you OBVIOUSLY tip the box to the opposite side the die was placed in and your audience will hear a loud CLUNK! You open the door on the side that the die used to be on and declare the DIE HAS VANISHED!!! They say, “Open the other door.” So you close the first door, tip the box and open the other to show the die gone! You get the idea.

This is classic ‘Sucker’ magic at it’s best. Eventually, after all the build up including your ability to SHOW the die IS in the box, you open all four doors to show the die has in fact VANISHED from the box and appeared in the hat! Great trick that I performed for years.

Bernstein Linking Safety Pin Routine -- You’ll like this. It has to be one of the ‘perfect’ routines for walk around/pocket work out on the market. Since the entire apparatus consists of only two 3" long safety pins you are looking at a VERY compact package for your pocket! The routine is set in FOUR major phases. Essentially they link and unlink in a totally magical manner. ‘CLEAN’ again comes to mind as the perfect adjective to describe the manner in which the magic takes place. Card Between Plates by Jay Leslie -- I am a great lover of the ‘Have a card selected, signed, lost in the deck and then find it later in an impossible place later’ theme in card magic. I have the LePaul Card in Wallet and tricks in which a folded card appears in matchbooks and small metal cans. Well, here is another addition to a magnificent magic theme. For any close-up worker looking for a trick that really looks like a miracle consider the following....A card is selected and signed by the spectator and lost in the deck. We’ve seen it before! But, this time, the card vanishes from the deck only to be found firmly secured by numerous rubber bands between two solid textured copper plates! There are some VERY COOL and practical benefits to this particular model. Consider: The plates are attractive and not gimmicked looking. They are made in such a way that you use the minimum number of rubber bands and thus the RESET TIME is FAST! Hundy 500 by Greg Wilson -- You open your wallet and pull out a packet of one dollar bills. You open the packet and count the bills slowly showing them openly as you do so. Then you fold, slap and bang the bills change instantly into $100 dollar bills. (Feedback from the local pros is that changing Five Dollar Bills to Fifty Dollar bills produces better tips.....) EASY to do once you have the bills set up Greg gives you the work in his clear, concise and easy to follow style. If you like the bills can be changed back into ones, etc. A superb item well worth the money.

Matrix God's Way by John Born -- I am almost literally at a loss for words on this new product from coin manipulator John Born. It is THAT good. Let’s start this way....What you get is a Computer CD Rom that shows a performance of many of the items in the book. Then you get a 100 page book with 18 extraordinary coin routines not all of which are Matrix themed. Two of the non Matrix routines involve the production of four half dollars from under four playing cards that you remove from the deck one at a time. Cards are literally tossed in the air, caught and then placed on the table and still a coin appears from beneath. The signature routine, Matrix God’s Way is a multipart Matrix routine that is simply the best I have ever seen. Part of the problem with John Born’s material is that it is SO good that it is difficult to get across in print just how good it truly is. It’s magical. To paraphrase one guy I read online: “John Born’s coin routines look like a camera trick, but they are not.” This material is NOT for the beginner, but in fact most of the material is not that difficult. The reason is that John uses basic sleights, excellent routining, and, well, gaffed coins! If you get this product the least number of gaffs you will want is four magnetic halves. That is Half Dollars with MAGNETS in them, not shimmed. You will also want a couple of half dollar shells. There are a couple routines that need some really strange configuration of gaffs, but John is supposed to be coming out with those sets pre-made. All in all you don’t need a ton of extras, but you do need some. BUT...the magic! The appearance of the coins beneath the cards is flat out the best production of it’s kind. John’s Matrix routines are wonderful and powerful magic that could do nothing except garner you a reputation as a top flight magician. Highly recommended for anyone interested in high end coin work.

Mentalism Incorporated - Hickok -- This is a book for what may prove a small audience. I'm not sure. Here is what you get: The finest book yet released on WORKING for corporations....and how to use Mentalism in that particular setting. You get everything: Routines, patter, how to contact and who to talk to. And, well much, much more. This is the real stuff and frankly the price is much to low. I can tell you from personal experience that in any other professional setting the information in this book (which is beautifully hardbound, etc. by the way) would cost $200-500. I'm not kidding. Information of this quality and specific nature, that deals with an area of magic performance that commands HIGH fees, etc. would cost hundreds in any other setting. If you have even a little bit of a handering to work for big money you should get and read this book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Mind Surf -- Any one of the four suits is freely named by a spectator (no magician's choice, force, leading, or linguistic deception of any kind). Upon removing four cards from a wallet the card which matches the spectator's chosen suit is the only one face down! What's more, the three face-up cards are Aces and the spectator's selection is turned over to reveal it is a King! Movie Magician -- This is a truly unique magic effect. Imagine that you have a friend select a playing card. The card is placed back in the deck and the deck is now set aside. Pro P.K. Kit -- Again, this is one of those items that is a pleasure to advertise and recommend. If you are not yet hip to the use of magnets to make things move, stick together, levitate, etc. then I guess I just gave it away! What the Pro P.K. Kit consists of is everything you could need to do the BEST magnetic P.K. work possible. First, you get what I consider the smallest and BEST P.K. magnet (and I’ve seen dozens!) on the market. It measures 2" by 2" and is 1/2" thick. It is SUPER POWERFUL and will do pretty much what you want it to. But, that’s just the beginning. You also get Straps to attach the magnet to forearm, etc. You get shimmed matches and steel rings and a Booklet with tricks, set ups, etc. But, you get MORE. You also get a Hollow Deck of Bicycle cards to hide your new magnet in and shim material to make your OWN gimmicks! By the way the hollow deck is one of my ‘personal’ favorite things. Years ago I hollowed out a deck with an Exacto knife and it was a nightmare. The deck that comes with the Kit is a custom made die cut deck that sells for $25.00 just by itself! The magnet sold alone is $45.00. This is a superior deal of well balanced materials and information.

Psi-Deck by Bernstein -- Mr. Bernstein is a mentalist with a well deserved reputation for developing superior routines. PSI-DECK is truly one of the most amazing gaffed decks I have encountered in my time in the Magic/Mentalism business and it is with great pleasure that I share it with you. Let me say at the outset that although the deck can’t be examined the construction is such that the built in ‘convincers’ make this deck seem as normal as, well, a ‘normal’ deck! The work put into each one personally by Mr. Bernstein is simply awe inspiring and only when you actually see, touch and examine your own will you appreciate what I just wrote. IF I described exactly how it is put together you still wouldn’t get the full impact until you have one in your hands. That said, the PSI-DECK allows the performance of what appears to be ACTUAL MINDREADING. Here is the routine as supplied: You ask three spectators if they would participate in an experiment that will test certain ‘unknown’ powers of the mind. They agree. You display a deck of cards and fan it face toward the audience to show all different faces. A rubber band is placed around the middle of the deck, which you then place face down on the L.Hand of assistant #1. You now turn your back and assistant #1 is asked to reach over and using his R. Thumb bend up the end of the deck ANYWHERE he chooses and to glimpse a card. You turn around and taking the deck from assistant #1 you place it on the L.Hand of assistant #2 and he/she is asked to do the same thing. Play this baby for all its worth, because you do NOT need to pump...you KNOW what cards they selected! With your BEST showmanship you reveal the two selected cards! This is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! But, there is more. You thank your first two assistants and send them back to their seats to a round of applause. You now hand the . . .

Quantimental -- Quantimental is very possibly one of the two or three finest Mental effects ever devised. Look, let's just jump to it and take a look at the basic effect: On a table is a classy, but plain looking wooden stand. In the stand are the five standard ESP Cards. Five spectators are selected at RANDOM...NO STOOGES!!! You, the mindreader, turn away, are blindfolded, etc. and the spectators come up one at a time and TAKE ANY OF THE ESP CARDS THEY WISH one per person. They hide the cards in pocket, purse, etc. You now turn around and look at each spectator as if reading their minds as if you are reaching into their brain and retrieving one special thought. You look and suddenly you begin to tell each spectator WHICH ESP card they selected! It is that straight forward!!! Note: No stooges! This is a one man routine! The method is slick, easy and impossible to fathom. The apparatus is made in very, VERY small numbers and there will NOT be many of them made. If you want a knock 'em dead effect to fill out a program seriously consider Quantimental. Highly recommended! Brad Burt

Salad Dressing by Dave Eldridge -- The performer removes three red cards and three black cards from the pack. One at a time, the cards are placed in a pile, alternating red and black cards...or so it seems. Without any sleights whatsoever, the red and black cards separate! Again the cards are alternated, and it appears they will stay that way, but with a quick flourish the reds and blacks visually separate once more! To finish, the cards are again clearly alternated and then divided into two piles of three cards. Invisibly the performer switches the middle card of each packet and slowly turns the cards over to show the reds have once again separated from the black! The Professor's Rope Symphony -- Joachim Solberg has been performing "The Professor's Rope Trick" for many years, and it is still his favorite rope trick. This trick is a "classic" in magic and well known all over the world, which is exactly what makes it so interesting for your audience. The SUDBURY II Penny -- The Sudbury Penny produced by the now defunct Sudbury Mint in Canada is a legendary magic prop. The original coins were made to be sold in novelty shops, but were outlawed by the U.S. Treasury and most of these wonderful coins were destroyed. The Super Thumb Tip Package!!! -- This is one of the best deals in magic. Two Ones To A Two -- One of the finest close-up pocket tricks you will every buy...guaranteed! I have done this for years and I can tell you...this one kills. Here is the EXACT effect as seen by the audience: From your pocket you remove and openly display two one dollar bills front and back. The bills are placed together and folded down into a packet. The packet NEVER leaves the sight of the audience. You snap the packet and open it instantly to show it has transformed into a single Two Dollar Bill! You show the bill front and back and then reverse the moves to split the Two back into two ones. Just that simple and clean. No Thumb Tips are used for this one.
