Bill Tube - Deluxe Brass -- This is a classic: A dollar bill is borrowed. The bill is signed and then folded into a small packet. It is then placed under a handkerchief and the spectator is asked to hold the bill and hanky. A sealed brass tube is removed from the performers pocket or case without hesitation or any false looking moves and placed in full view of the audience. Now, the bill is vanished and the handkerchief shown empty. The brass tube is HANDED to the spectator who opens it to find that the signed dollar bill is inside!!! Very nice, very clean and neat. Excellent new method on the tube.

Buddha Money Mystery -- A classic little effect. You display a folded sheet of paper. The paper is unfolded to produce a small folded paper. This second one is unfolded to produce a third and the third is unfolded to produce a fourth. The fourth is unfolded and found empty. You place a quarter on the fourth paper and refold all four sheets of paper. Snap your fingers....unfold the papers and the coin is gone!!! The process can be reversed to make a coin or folded dollar bill, etc. APPEAR magically from the papers!

B'wave -- This is Dave's FAVORITE trick! A packet of four cards is shown. You tell the audeince that the cards are the four Queens, and that you have turned one of them face up as sort of a prediction. A spectator names one of the queens. The cards are spread, and the named queen is the ONLY CARD THAT IS FACE UP! Not only that, but it has a different colored back than the rest of the cards. If that is not enough, the other three cards are turned over, and they are TOTALY BLANK! Their named queen is the ONLY queen you have! This is easy, and totaly amazing!

Card Between Plates by Jay Leslie -- I am a great lover of the ‘Have a card selected, signed, lost in the deck and then find it later in an impossible place later’ theme in card magic. I have the LePaul Card in Wallet and tricks in which a folded card appears in matchbooks and small metal cans. Well, here is another addition to a magnificent magic theme. For any close-up worker looking for a trick that really looks like a miracle consider the following....A card is selected and signed by the spectator and lost in the deck. We’ve seen it before! But, this time, the card vanishes from the deck only to be found firmly secured by numerous rubber bands between two solid textured copper plates! Card Through The Glass -- This is WAY COOL! A signed card is placed on a piece of plexi-glass. A second spectator then places his own signed business card on top of the playing card. Now a second piece of glass is placed on top of all, and everything is "rubber-banded" closed. You tell the audience to keep their eyes on the playing card, and not to blink. You spectator's jaws will hit the floor as the watch the card VISIBLY, and without ANY cover of ANY kind, MELT THROUGH THE GLASS!! This is a very eerie effect, and will blow 'em away! Highly recommended!

Card to Can by Raven Magic -- I love tricks by Richard Raven. Rich is a working magician that puts out tested material that works. Here is a classic ‘signed-card-in-an-impossible-place’ routine that I think you will like. It has sold exceptionally well in the store and from personal experience I tell you that it is effective and very fun to do. Here is the effect: A small closed metal can is placed on the table. You ask a spectator to select a card and then sign it. The card is then placed back into the deck and the deck is shuffled, etc. You now make the grand claim that you will find the card, but that you will do so while the deck is behind your back! So saying you place the deck behind your back...you struggle...and yep, you fail to find the card. Rats! You place the deck on the table and give that look that says you are really embarrassed, but not really, because you are just playing with the audience like a cat with a mouse.........O.k., maybe not a cat with a mouse, but you are looking sneaky in a guilty kinda way. You point to the can on the table. Remember that it has been in full view the entire time. You ask the spectator to open the can. They do and inside is a folded up playing card! You dump the card out and ask the spectator to open it up. Yep......it IS the Signed selection! This is really quite good. The can you get with the instructions is particularly nice for its size and working. Although the can cannot be examined I have NOT found this to be a problem. You should try this one!

Cards of Cairo by Docc Hilford -- Docc Hilford's Cards of Cairo is a piece of apparent fortunetelling that's very easy to do and completely baffles any audience. Here's the effect: The faces of three over-sized cards are shown to the audience. You explain that everyone will now take a mystical journey from the past, through the present and into the future. You go on to explain that the journey began in the past when you wrote three predictions about a spectator and sealed them under plastic to the backs of each card. A spectator chooses a face-up card and when the card is turned over it reads, "You Will Choose This Card First" and it even goes on to say something about the spectator's future. Of course, everyone thinks it's just a joke and that all the cards say the same thing. But, when the second card chosen is turned over it reads, "This Card Will Be Picked Second!" The final card's prediction prognosticates that it will be the last of the spectator's selections, three for three! Completely self-contained Nothing is switched Predictions really are sealed to the cards Predictions were written before the show No forcing-every choice is completely free! Castle Dracula Mentalism -- This is one of the best books on mentalism that I have read in a long time. There are two sections to this book. The first is a section of tricks that can be done by the solo performer. "Red and Blue" and "The Psychic Spectator" went into my act right away. The second section involves tricks that involve a partner. This is a cool section. There is a telephone trick that is a KILLER! At first glance you may think that this is a book of Bizzare Magick. It is not. Most of the stuff is main stream mental magic. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in mentalism!

Catapult DVD set by Brian Platt -- Brian Platt has produced what I firmly believe will become a classic instructional DVD. You can go here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=catapultmagic and watch some of Brian's work. What you get are two DVD's that explain in detail some of the finest magic you will ever see. The Color Change and the Tic Tac work is alone worth the price of the set, but you get so much more. Catapult gets my strongest recommendation. This is the kind of stuff you by a Raven for and then you have all the hassle of pinning it into your coat, etc.!!! How would you like the same effect without the gimmick??? Yeah, me to! Cell-O-Phane by Armando Vera -- You have to get this one. I mean that. I saw it performed twice before writing the review and it totally fooled me both times! This is cool magic. Here is the routine exactly as it appears: You take an open deck of cards that still has the cellophane wrapper on most of the box. YOU write down the name of a card that you predict will be selected in a moment. This is done with a black marking pen. The deck is turned over and a spectator assistant signs their name on the other side. You now remove the deck from the box. Spread the cards for a selection. Card is selected and turned over. It is NOT the card you wrote down. Spectator is asked to turn the box over and your prediction has CHANGED to match the card selected!!! Now...get this....the wrapper can be removed and HANDED OUT FOR COMPLETE EXAMINATION OR TO BE KEPT BY THE SPECTATOR! Believe it or not, this is EASY and CLEAN to do. It kills. Highly recommended!!!

Center Tear Teach-In by Lee Earle -- One of my favorite videos that I have produced with another talent. This extrodinary technique is one of the most startling and captivating pieces of mental magic that I have ever witnessed. I saw the effect for the first time when getting ready to tape the performance and was totally fooled by the method employed! Here is the effect: A spectator writes something on a piece of paper. The paper is folded up and torn to pieces. YOU the performer NEVER APPEAR TO EVEN GLANCE AT THE PAPER! This is what makes this so strong. The pieces are held between your hands, again, you never seem to even glance at them. The pieces are burned up. Completely destroyed. Suddenly you begin to give your spectator a 'reading' as you do this the information that was on the piece of paper is revealed in the strongest possible manner.

Chair Suspension - Leslie -- This is one of my favorite small, portable, work surrounded Stage Illusions. It is the perfect 'BIG' trick for kids shows. Perfect for corporate work. Actually, in many ways this is the perfect illusion. Here's what happens: In full view of the audience you open and set up two folding chairs. You then set a long board on them that has a folded drape sitting on top. You now open up the drape. A spectator or an assistant is placed on top of the board and the drape is wrapped around the assistant. With flourish you remove the chair supporting the feet! The assistant remains suspended above the floor supported apparently by the wooden board and the other chair back. It gets better. You now REMOVE the board from beneath the assistant! (See the photo again!!!) The assistant is now suspended on AIR and the back of the ONE remaining chair! This looks great. The effect is very clean and can be performed OUTSIDE and SURROUNDED! O.k., just reverse everything and you are finished. Note that the full apparatus is so compact that is is easily portable even in most small cars. Highly recommended! SHIPPING CHARGES: Although a 'small' illusion this is still quite large to ship. There is a minimum $25-35 shipping charge in the U.S. ...although I am attempting to get this down!

Chinese Sticks -- Effect: You display two wands. From one wand hangs a gold cord with a gold tassle attached. The other wand has a gold tassle hanging from the top of the wand. As you pull the short cord down the long cord shortens. It appears that the two wands are connected. This is where it gets good....You separate the wands so that they are not touching AT ALL....And, then pull the short cord....again, the long cord shortens. There are many variations: You place one in a shirt pocket, etc. One of my favorite tricks, this IS a classic from the old school that maintains its effect. GREAT fun.

Cig thru Quarter -- You borrow a quarter and a cigarette. You then push the cigerette RIGHT THROUGH the solid quarter! Then you take the cigarette out of the quarter, and hand everything back to their owners!

Cigarette Up the Nose by Gary Kosnitzky -- Flat out this is the BEST version of this trick I have seen. Here what happens: You take a cigarette and VISIBLY push it up your nose. Get this: Your audience SEES the cork filter move slowly towards your nose. They SEE it go in. You open your move your hand to show it is empty! The Illusion is Perfect. Color Changing Knives -- A wonderful trick for the pocket. Used by many of the finest close-up performers world wide, this is an excellent starter set of knives. The effect is classic: You show a standard appearing pocket knife. In the most magical manner possible, the knife changes color and then changes color again. This DOES take sleight-of-hand and practice, but many, many magicians had this as their first trick. The instructions are quite good, but hopefully soon I will have a comprehensive video out on the 'Paddle Move' with an emphasis upon the knives.

Color Monte -- This is one of my all time favorite magic routines. Although it takes a little skill it is well within the reach of anyone wanting to add a truly entertaining piece of magic to their act. The magician displays three cards-one with a blue spot and two which have red spots. He explains that the cards are used to play a game of chance, the object being to keep track of the card with the blue spot. If you find the blue card you win a dollar, but if you`re wrong then you owe a dollar. He goes on to relate how he was once taken by the game and shows how quickly he lost three dollars. Every time he thought he had the blue card it ended up being the red! Frustrated, he accused the man of not even having a blue card in his hands, but when it was shown on the bottom he lost another dollar! Trying to catch the hustler again, he stated that if the card was on the bottom it couldn`t possibly be on top, but was wrong again and lost another dollar! In a last ditch effort he guessed that it couldn`t be the center card, but once again lost another dollar! His running total was now up to six dollars. Continuing, the performer tells how he told the hustler that he thought more than three cards were being used, but was once again proven wrong and he lost another dollar! Being the gambler he is, he tried one more time, double or nothing. The hustler clearly showed one card with a red spot, a second card with a blue spot and stated all the magician had to do was guess the color of the third card. Red, right? Wrong again-the card isn`t red or blue, but a surprise card no one will expect! Comes complete with the three necessary cards printed on Bicycle stock and detailed instructions.

Colored Rope - Deluxe 50 foot hank -- Comes in Red, Yellow, Blue and White this is a 3/8" rope without a core that holds it shape fairly well. The colors are true and vibrant. The rope is wonderfully flexible. The down and dirty is this: A great high quality manipulation rope that comes in colors!

Connoisseur Special by Dan Archer -- Right now, this is definitely a favorite around the shop. The 'demo guys' have gone nuts for it and it is selling like....well, whatever it is that you like that sells fast. Here you go: 3 cards are shown, say 2 black Aces and a King. You tell the spectator that you are going to perform an observation test. The King is placed in between the 2 Aces and the packet is squared. You ask the spectator if the King is face up or face down. Naturally, the answer is "Face up." Nope, wrong. The King has magically turned face down! You repeat the 1st phase a couple of times in various ways until you admit that you have been cheating (perish the thought). You have been using 4 cards instead of 3. You remove one card and place it face down on the table. You now ask the spectators the color of the 2 Aces. They answer, "Black". Wrong! They are RED! However, there are still 2 cards that are face down. You give the spectator one final chance by asking them to choose which card is the King. No matter which one they select they will pick an Ace, because the King has totally vanished leaving you with only 4 Aces. The King is then reproduced from your wallet, pocket etc. This is extremely easy, and is a total blast to perform. Walk around guys and table hoppers take note! Highly, Highly Recommended!

Constant Fooling #1 -- Volume One contains a collection of powerful card magic utilizing unprepared cards, David’s startling Cups & Balls routine from his Magic Castle Act and a chapter devoted entirely to magic done with neither cards nor coins. Crazy Cube -- One of my first tricks this is a total fooler: You display two small black canisters with red caps. The smaller will fit inside the larger. You also display a small white die. You turn your back to the audience and ask a spectator to take the smaller of the two canisters and the die and select a number on the die and place it top up in the canister. They are then to firmly fix the cap on the top. You now turn to them take the small canister and place it into the larger canister and place the top on. You can now place the canister on the table, give to the spectator, etc. You concentrate....finally, you TELL THE SPECTATOR EXACTLY WHAT NUMBER THEY SELECTED!!! Cool, easy and very magical. You

Cups and Balls - small, plastic -- Considered by many to be 'the' classic magic trick. Very probably the oldest trick on record. What you get here is the 'basic' routine in which one at a time three small balls apparently penetrate the top of three cups. Take a little bit of practice, but is easy, fun and magical to perform.

Deep Astonishment -- A spectator cuts the deck to a random face down card. The card is covered with your wallet to keep it safe. You then ask the spectator to dig deep into her mind for a personal magic word. She has a free choice of almost any word she can imagine! Let's say her word is "rose". You then use her magic word "rose" to help you find the "soul mate" of the card that's under the wallet. It's a very cool trick! But what's in the wallet? You open the wallet. Your fingers reach into its inner pocket and removes a packet of spare cards that you placed there last night. Their backs are of a different color than the deck you've been using! You slowly and cleanly deal these cards from the wallet on to the table. The first card has a large "R" hand drawn on its back! The next card an "O"! The next an "S"! The final card an "E"...spelling out her magic word, "ROSE"! No one says anything for a very long time. Finally a single word escapes your spectator's lips, "HOW?!" Dice Thru The Mirror -- This IS a KILLER trick. Here is the effect: You display a black plastic folder. You next show a glass mirror and hand it out for examination. The mirror is attached permanently to a wide red ribbon. The mirror is placed inside the plasitic folder. Now....the folder has a small square hole on top just large enough to hold a regular size white gaming die. You can see the mirror through the hole. the die is placed on the mirror. A spectator is asked to hold the ribbon to PROVE that the mirror cannot be moved NOR CAN IT BE REMOVED from the plastic folder. NOW.....As your audience watches, the die slowly and VISIBLY sinks straight down through the solid glass mirror and falls to the floor! Mirror can be removed and examined again if desired. I have done this trick thousands of times and it is really terrific. The effect and working is smooth and clean and packs a magic whallop. Get this! Die Box - Four Door Deluxe -- I haven’t been able to find a Die Box that I REALLY liked for a long time. THIS box is excellent and the price is RIGHT! What you get is a handcrafted mahogany four door die box with all the goodies. Extra ‘fake’ in the door, etc. This is a full size box with an excellent white die with black dots. If you have wanted to add Die Box to your show, you really should give this a try. Effect: In front of you is a hat or box. You display a beautiful wooden box that has two doors in front and two door on top. Thus the box can be opened to show that it is empty. You now display a large white die that fits perfectly into one side of the rectangular box. You show ALL sides of the die and ask whether your audience would like to see the die FLY visibly or invisibly into the hat? They of course say VISIBLY....so you set the die visibly into the hat. O.k., funny gag. You remove the die and place it into the Die Box closing all the doors. Now, you OBVIOUSLY tip the box to the opposite side the die was placed in and your audience will hear a loud CLUNK! You open the door on the side that the die used to be on and declare the DIE HAS VANISHED!!! They say, “Open the other door.” So you close the first door, tip the box and open the other to show the die gone! You get the idea. This is classic ‘Sucker’ magic at it’s best. Eventually, after all the build up including your ability to SHOW the die IS in the box, you open all four doors to show the die has in fact VANISHED from the box and appeared in the hat! Great trick that I performed for years.

Die-A-Bolic by Viennamagic -- Die-A-Bolic by Viennamagic The World's Smartest Die! While the magician has his back turned (or is completely out of the room) a spectator secretly places a die on the table in any position and remembers the number on top. The spectator then moves the dice around before the magician turns back and even though there's no possibility that the magician could have seen anything he can state the spectator's selected number instantly! Easy to do Repeat as often as you like! The very clever principle does it all for you

Diminishing Returns -- Effect: You display the fronts and backs of a deck of cards to the audience. A spectator simply names any card they like, you remove the named card and set it aside face-up. You now spread the deck on the table and somehow the entire deck visibly shrinks to half of its original size! The selected card is the biggest one in the deck. Just when the audience catches their breath, the entire deck grows back to its normal size, and now the selected card has shrunk! To finish, the selected card visibly grows back to normal size!

Dream Paddle -- What you get is a beautifully made plastic paddle with colored shapes on both sides. This hard to appreciate without seeing it done, but you can cause the color of the various shapes to CHANGE and do it several times. The method is EXTREMELY clever. Really, you only need know how to perform the classic paddle move well. From there understanding the method of the changes is easy. This is a really cool pocket trick for those of you, who like me, LOVE the paddle move and all the various miracles that can be accomplished with same. Neat!

Dream Tear by Carl Cloutier -- Imagine a single sheet T&R newspaper. Imagine that when you finish you are left with a clean sheet of newspaper to hand out or use in a mentalism effect, etc. Think about it! Walk into a CEO’s office with his company’s brochure (WHICH CAN BE EXAMINED BEFORE AND AFTER THE TRICK!), tear it into many pieces, and then quickly restore it. Hopping Half -- You'll be hopping mad if you don't get this! 'Watch. If I start with the two coins in my hand and get rid of one (you visibly and fairly take one coin out and put it in your pocket.) and open your hand again, there is still two coins. you repeat this 2 more times. 'I'll do it one last time. You should know how this works by now. If I remove one of the two coins, what does it leave me here in my hand? Wise to your play, the spectator will respond, 'Two Coins.' 'Well, it feels like two coins and probably looks like two coins but it's absolutely nothing.' Show your hands completely empty! This is a great trick and easy to do. Made by Johnson Products.

Hundy 500 by Greg Wilson -- You open your wallet and pull out a packet of one dollar bills. You open the packet and count the bills slowly showing them openly as you do so. Then you fold, slap and bang the bills change instantly into $100 dollar bills. (Feedback from the local pros is that changing Five Dollar Bills to Fifty Dollar bills produces better tips.....) EASY to do once you have the bills set up Greg gives you the work in his clear, concise and easy to follow style. If you like the bills can be changed back into ones, etc. A superb item well worth the money.

Hyrum the Haunted Hank -- Another one of my favorite close-up tricks. I have used this for both casual and show work. Here we go: You display an attractive handkerchief. It is placed on the table and the corner folded in towards the middle. Placing just the thumbs of both hands on the hanky, suddenly the hanky begins to move. The middle rises up and settles down. It jumps into the air, etc. This takes a little practice, but is a blast to do. Cannot be examined, but most of the items in this catagory cannot be.

Impossible Card In Bottle! -- A signed card instantly appears inside a sealed bottle! That’s how the routine plays. No fumbling extra steps or misused moments. This is as clean as they come – cleaner – it absolutely sparkles! A reputation maker, instant classic, any venue any time, etc. Forget the clichés, this is the best thing since sliced cards! You’ll be struck back to birth when you see how clever and efficient this trick really is. The instruction book is all-inclusive. Every nuance and subtlety is described in vivid detail. Magic For Dummies -- I am a great fan of the 'Dummies' books. I have a ton of Computer ones. It was not surprising to find that they had contracted for a 'Magic' book to add to their growing list of catagories outside their computer beginnings. This is WELL WORTH your time and money. It is excellently written with a wealth of informative topics and a fine selection of first class tricks in the beginning to intermediate level. This is a 369 page soft cover book. 19 Chapters and 3 appendixes. Cards, money, restaurant magic. A ton of stuff. Highly recommended!

Mentalism Incorporated - Hickok -- This is a book for what may prove a small audience. I'm not sure. Here is what you get: The finest book yet released on WORKING for corporations....and how to use Mentalism in that particular setting. You get everything: Routines, patter, how to contact and who to talk to. And, well much, much more. This is the real stuff and frankly the price is much to low. I can tell you from personal experience that in any other professional setting the information in this book (which is beautifully hardbound, etc. by the way) would cost $200-500. I'm not kidding. Information of this quality and specific nature, that deals with an area of magic performance that commands HIGH fees, etc. would cost hundreds in any other setting. If you have even a little bit of a handering to work for big money you should get and read this book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Money Maker -- This is one of those little classics. Double rollers allow you to put in a blank piece of paper and apparently print out a real dollar bill. My favorite use right now? Put in a new dollar bill and have a Wonderland Dollar come on out! Very cool.

Money Morph DVD -- This IS power magic. Kevin King has taken the classic Bill Switch and added a subtle twist makes this even more magic. Easy to do, this does take practice to perfect, but the small amount of effort needed will be repaid a 1000 times. The effect: Borrow a $1 bill and without it EVER leaving the sight of the spectators you transform it into a $100 bill. Or, a $5 bill or whatever suits! This is simply one of the best effects around. One Tear At A Time - J.C. Wagner -- J.C.'s classic Torn and Restored card from his book Seven Secrets is one of the most performed and loved effects of its kind. Many of the ideas in this effect have been used in other versions, but the original is still one of the finest creations in card magic. Well, using some of his original concepts, J.C. took the routine one step further and came up with one of the most DOABLE versions of the Tear Up A Card and put it together one piece at a time that you will find anywhere. The method is clean and considered by many to be the easiest method available. The video is unique in that the explanation was shot COMPLETE from the FRONT and the REAR! That's correct, there are two complete explanations of the routine mechanics guaranteeing you WILL be able to learn and perform it. Note also, that because of the method the ANGLES are much better than virtually any other routine out there. You will love this.

Pea Can - Deluxe Brass -- This is one of those old, old classic pocket tricks. It is a great item for bar work.....(I wouldn't suggest this for table work in a restaurant, but...) O.K., what you have is a small brass can. Out of the can you pour three different colored peas: White, green and yellow. A spectator selects one of the peas and selects yellow. The yellow pea is placed in the can and the can is sealed with a cork. The can is shaken and the spectator is asked what is in the can? They answer, "The yellow pea!" Really, you ask? Here comes the 'punch line'......You ask the spectator to hold their hand out. Removing the cork from the Brass Can you pour what is inside onto their hand. What makes this so funny is that out pours a small amount of liquid. Yep, this is truly one of the few 'low brow' magic tricks out there. That said, it IS funny when done for the right crowd at the right time. I am pretty picky and I have done this for years and it has always gotten a laugh. No one has taken it too seriously. BUT....It is NOT for everyone.

Penetration Frame -- A red plastic frame is shown. In the frame is a solid clear plastic sheet. Two playing cards, business cards, etc. are placed on either side of the frame. A pen is thrust through the cards. You can show both side of the frame with the pen protruding from both sides. The pen is removed. The cards are removed. Suddenly the audience discovers that the plastic sheet has NO HOLES IN IT!!! Powerful, fun and easy to do.

Pick-Stick -- Don't pass this one up. Easy and fun the effect is quite mystifing. Here is what happens: You display a beautiful little brass rod. In the rod are drilled 3 little holes. You place a toothpick into the center hole. With a shake of the rod, the toothpick JUMPS instantly to one of the other two holes! Then it jumps back again. More jumps. You remove the toothpick and hand both the rod and toothpick out to be examined. Here is the clincher!!! When they try and place the toothpick into one of the holes....they are sealed up. NO HOLES! Can't beat this for price and effect!

Pinnacle with Russ Niedzwiecki -- A borrowed object (finger ring). An everyday object (rubber band). Two of the strongest components of powerful magical experience combine in this four-phase presentation, whereby a rubber band penetrates on and off a finger ring-one strand at a time! Precognition Deck -- The magician tosses a deck of cards to any volunteer in the audience and relates that earlier in the day he had a premonition. He asks the volunteer to simply name any card in the deck-he has a completely free choice. The magician continues to explain that after his premonition he removed one card from the pack and placed it in his pocket. The spectator himself then removes the cards from the case and counts them out, looking at each card's face. He gets all the way through the deck and finds there are only 51 cards, none of which were his named selection! The performer reaches into his pocket and removes one card...the spectator's selection! No pocket indexes, roughing fluid, adhesives, short cards, deck switches or sleight-of-hand, the ingenious deck does it all for you The deck is in the spectator's hands before the effect begins and the magician never touches the cards Any of the 52 cards may be named Comes complete with the very special deck of cards and fully-illustrated instructions.

Pro P.K. Kit -- Again, this is one of those items that is a pleasure to advertise and recommend. If you are not yet hip to the use of magnets to make things move, stick together, levitate, etc. then I guess I just gave it away! What the Pro P.K. Kit consists of is everything you could need to do the BEST magnetic P.K. work possible. First, you get what I consider the smallest and BEST P.K. magnet (and I’ve seen dozens!) on the market. It measures 2" by 2" and is 1/2" thick. It is SUPER POWERFUL and will do pretty much what you want it to. But, that’s just the beginning. You also get Straps to attach the magnet to forearm, etc. You get shimmed matches and steel rings and a Booklet with tricks, set ups, etc. But, you get MORE. You also get a Hollow Deck of Bicycle cards to hide your new magnet in and shim material to make your OWN gimmicks! By the way the hollow deck is one of my ‘personal’ favorite things. Years ago I hollowed out a deck with an Exacto knife and it was a nightmare. The deck that comes with the Kit is a custom made die cut deck that sells for $25.00 just by itself! Pro Viper II -- I can hardly think of a Parlor/Stage trick that I like better than my friend Terry Lunceford's PRO VIPER II Snake Basket routine. It is simply a killer, visual, commercial piece of magic that comes with a hilarious comedy routine to boot! Psi-Con Ruse by Phil Goldstein -- Effect: A spectator is asked to freely shuffle a deck of cards. The mentalist displays a book on divination, explaining that he has been studying Cartomancy-the ancient system of telling fortunes with playing cards. An envelope is then given to the participant to hold and the performer says, "Even though we've never met before, inside this envelope is a Cartomantic reading that I've prepared just for you. Let's see if the system works!" The top five cards of the shuffled pack are taken and displayed by being inserted into the edge of the book. The spectator is told to choose any of the five cards. The selected card is, for example, the four of clubs. The four unchosen cards are shown to be all different. When the fortune message is removed from the envelope, it reads: "You have a compassionate nature and strong leadership potential. Your sense of humor is admired by others. Your lucky card is the four of clubs!" Quantimental -- Quantimental is very possibly one of the two or three finest Mental effects ever devised. Look, let's just jump to it and take a look at the basic effect: On a table is a classy, but plain looking wooden stand. In the stand are the five standard ESP Cards. Five spectators are selected at RANDOM...NO STOOGES!!! You, the mindreader, turn away, are blindfolded, etc. and the spectators come up one at a time and TAKE ANY OF THE ESP CARDS THEY WISH one per person. They hide the cards in pocket, purse, etc. You now turn around and look at each spectator as if reading their minds as if you are reaching into their brain and retrieving one special thought. You look and suddenly you begin to tell each spectator WHICH ESP card they selected! It is that straight forward!!! Note: No stooges! This is a one man routine! The method is slick, easy and impossible to fathom. The apparatus is made in very, VERY small numbers and there will NOT be many of them made. If you want a knock 'em dead effect to fill out a program seriously consider Quantimental. Highly recommended! Brad Burt

Quarter Through Soda Can -- Let me start out with this: This IS the best fully and totally Impromptu magic routine that I have ever seen. The total effect is simply stunning. The method is diabolical. The degree of difficulty is low. It is everything that you could want in a magic effect. The EFFECT: You borrow and unopened soda can. You borrow a quarter. You have the quarter marked with a sharpie on both sides. You now proceed in the cleanest possible manner to slap the coin thru the bottom of the soda can. You show the soda can from every possible angle. You gently rattle the coin IN the can. You pop the lid and immeadiately hand the can to the spectator. They now empty the can. As the last of the soda leaves the can they can SEE that a coin is in the can. They can SEE that it is the EXACT same coin that they signed! It's just that neat and clean. You use a REAL borrowed can. NO gimmick is needed. This is a truly impromptu magic routine. I don't know what more I can say. This is as close to a MUST HAVE magic effect as I have ever seen. -Brad Burt

Quarterly Returns - Dave Eldridge -- David Eldridge is a very clever guy. He comes up with Visual, Commercial magic. I am truly proud to be the first to bring one of Dave's creations to market. Here is the effect: A card is selected and signed across the face in large letters. You, the magician, take the card and tear it into four pieces. The pieces are very openly and fairly displayed including placing them between the fingers of the left hand ala the Multiplying Billiard Balls! The pieces are gathered together and in full view of the audience...they instantly and visibly pop open fully restored!!! This is EASY and FUN to do.

Queen's Debate DVD - J.C. Wagner -- Why NEW? Because it's now in DVD format!!! AND...I lowered the price to $24.95! This may well be the best card routine of it's type. Takes work, but it simply fries spectator's. And, keep constantly in mind that this routine needs NO Gimmicked Cards! That's important, because when you see it done you would swear that it DOES uses gaffs of some kind. Na-huh. This is totally impromptu. -Brad This IS one of the effects that made J.C. Wagner famous. This is the revised and improved version of his now classic routine The Dyslexic Queens and boy does this one deliver on the promise of incredible card magic without the use of ANY gimmicked cards and without the use of super difficult sleights! If you can do an Elmsley Count, well, you should be able to learn and perform Queen's Debate without a hitch! The effect is simple and straight forward: You place four piles of 3 cards each on the table in a diamond pattern. You then add one queen to each pile. Now, in the cleanest possible manner you VANISH the queen from each of three of the piles! This is nuclear magic: Visual and clean and magical. You now pick up the fourth pile and show that all four Queen's are in THAT pile! And, you do NOT use duplicate cards!!! You now proceed to vanish the Queens in the fourth pile one at a time and then instantly show all the Queens back in the four separate piles. What makes this such a HOT routine is that you use a regular deck of cards. You do not use gimmicks of any kind and yet the routine looks so good you will think you are using them! Anyone who has worked thru the Brad Burt Basic Card Course will have no trouble with this routine.

Rabbid, Jr. -- 7 1/2" tall and will fit even more comfortably into your pocket. Although the larger of the two is probably a better comedy bet, this is perfect for close-up work.

Reality Twister -- A spectator examines your new experimental "Reality Twister." It bears a remarkable resemblance to a normal hunk of clear plastic, about the size of a credit card. The spectator also looks over a pen ...which bears a remarkable resemblance to a normal hunk of pen. Your giddy-with-anticipation spectator holds the pen on her open palm as you hold the clear Reality Twister lens just above the pen so she can see the pen directly through the lens. You give the lens a twist ...and the center of the pen becomes transparent ...and then completely invisible! She can even see right through her spread fingers where the pen was a moment ago. Another twist of the Twister and the missing center of pen suddenly becomes visible! You then slowly twist the Reality Twister and in full view the center of the pen visibly distorts ...then melts itself into an extreme twist!!! Your astonished spectator immediately examines the deformed balloon doggie pen. There's no explanation ...except that the Reality Twister is not a thing you'd want near any of your favorite body parts. No switches, no extra pieces, uses just the one pen ...which you or the spectator can write with before and after the effect. No reset ...The Reality Twister is always ready to go! And now for the really wonderful part ...the entire effect actually happens on the spectator's open palm. You never touch the pen during the mutations. You just give the clear plastic lens a little twist and the center of the pen visibly vanishes, reappears then melts into a twist! Comes complete with the incredible gimmick, pen and detailed instructions.

RedivideR -- It has been a few years since Phil Goldstein's last book of magic, Thabbatical, was released. It is now a sought-after work, out-of-print with secondhand copies hard to obtain. So what has Mr. Goldstein been up to since then? The answer is Redivider, a book containing 24 tricks and routines with cards, including mental feats, a devilish repeat Do-as-I-Do, a detective mystery, a lesson in sexual politics, a Poker demonstration with an historical surprise finish, and more-all based on one fascinating principle (no, not that principle, but a good one, nonetheless), with minimal manipulation. Mr. Goldstein, after giving a clear explanation of the self-working principle underlying all the pieces in the book, leads you from simple applications to ever more clever and confounding tricks and routines, many with full and very entertaining presentations. Paperback, 80 pages.

Ricochet -- The 4 kings and the 4 aces are removed from a deck of cards. The kings are placed face down in a pile in front of a spectator who covers them with her hands. The aces are held in the performers hands, and one at a time the aces change into the kings. The performer now reasons that if he holds the king the spectator must be covering the aces. The spectator turns her cards face up expecting to see aces, but instead finds kings. The spectators now look back at the performer's hands, and find the aces! This is EASY to do. In fact, there is even a handling which requires NO sleight-of-hand whatsoever, and is perfect for a beginner! This is GREAT. BUY IT NOW!

Ring Escape -- Effect: A nut, bolt and lock and key are presented along with a handkerchief. A finger ring is borrowed from a spectator and placed on the bolt. The ring is trapped on the bolt by screwing on the nut. The small brass lock is placed through the hole at the end of the bolt and closed! Now, the handkerchief is placed over the entire assembled ‘ring jail’. You reach beneath and almost INSTANTLY REMOVE THE RING. You whip the hanky away and allow the lock to be opened the screw to be removed and everything examined. This is a GREAT piece of apparatus. Dave and I have been having a ball with it in the shop. The possible approaches to routining are many and varied. How about: You need two duplicate rings. A borrowed ring is placed on the bolt, etc. You reach under the hanky to help it escape. Hmmm... Doesn’t seem to be working. You reach in your pocket and remove your own ‘magic’ ring. The ring is displayed in full view of the audience. You make a magical pass and the ring instantly changes into the Spectator’s ring!!! The hanky is removed and there is the ‘magic’ ring now on the bolt. Solid brass and seriously nice!

Rising Card -- A card is freely selected, and put back into the deck. The deck is then placed into the box. Everyone freaks out when the selected card eerily and mysteriously RISES out of the deck! Very easy to do.

Salad Dressing by Dave Eldridge -- The performer removes three red cards and three black cards from the pack. One at a time, the cards are placed in a pile, alternating red and black cards...or so it seems. Without any sleights whatsoever, the red and black cards separate! Again the cards are alternated, and it appears they will stay that way, but with a quick flourish the reds and blacks visually separate once more! To finish, the cards are again clearly alternated and then divided into two piles of three cards. Invisibly the performer switches the middle card of each packet and slowly turns the cards over to show the reds have once again separated from the black! Self-Working Coin Magic -- 148 pages and 251 illustrations in a softbound format make this one of the best books in the series. Most of the material is fairly easy as the title would imply. Many of the items are more in the 'betcha' realm than magic, but they are a good place to start.

Self-Working Handkerchief Magic -- 192 pages and 509 illustrations make this book easy to use. The 61 tricks cover a huge variety. Excellent material most needing just a simple handkerchief to perform.

Self-Working Mental Magic -- 121 pages and 73 usefull illustrations support 67 easy and fun 'fake' psychic tricks. This is a great and inexpensive way to start learning about this interesting area of the Magic Craft.

Self-Working Paper Magic -- 160 fun packed pages with 367 useful illustrations. 81 varied tricks with paper of different kinds. A great little book with a ton of classic material for ALL ages.

Self-Working Rope Magic by Karl Fulves -- 148 pages with perfect bound covers. It covers all the basics of magic with rope: Cut and Restored; knots of various kinds and much more. PLEASE, a WARNING, of the the books in the so called 'Self Working' series by Mr. Fulves this is the least self-working. Rope magic takes time, effort and practice. It is MORE than worth it as rope magic has and will have a great fascination for the watching audience.

Self-Working Table Magic -- 122pages with 185 illustrations. 97 tricks with everyday objects such as: Money, dice, pens and rubber bands. This is a GREAT little book for a beginner. Recommended.

Sharky -- EFFECT: Imagine...a card is selected from a red-backed Bicycle deck and signed by the spectator. The card is freely shown both front and back and lost in the deck. The magician then introduces his sidekick Sharky (a blue-backed Bicycle card with a sticker of a card shark on the back). Suddenly, the blue card changes to red and Sharky has vanished! While humming the theme from the movie Jaws, the magician starts searching through the deck for the missing blue card. When the blue-backed card is found with Sharky on the back it is turned over and seen to be the spectator's signed selection! Shinkansen by Phil Goldstein -- Effect: Four red-backed cards are displayed; they're counted and held by a spectator. Another set of blue-backed cards is shown, and a second spectator simply thinks of any one. The packets are held by the spectators, who stand far apart from each other. With the utmost fairness, the mentally chosen card vanishes from the blue packet and appears in the red! Includes detailed, 16-page booklet written by Phil Goldstein and fully-illustrated by Tony Dunn and the seven specially-printed cards on Bicycle stock that make this effect possible. I have never really liked the Cards Across Plot...until NOW! This is a very cool effect that you will learn quikly, and easily. I LOVE this trick!

Skull of Nostradamus -- I can't believe that I have these again! My friend Gino Garcia has come through with a VERY limited run of only 8 of these superbly hand crafted magic Skulls. First, let me tell you about the Skull. Each skull is hand made. I mean "hand made"! They are individually hand poured and then each one is pain stakingly finished off and detailed to look like a real skull....very small of course, but real. The electronics package inside is hand made and finished. The little Pirates Chest is hand made including the inset for the skull that is then covered in velvet. This is a TRUE collector's piece that you can USE! Here is just the most basic effect possible you can do with the Skull of Nostradamus..... A card is selected, signed and returned to the deck. The deck is shuffled and six cards at random as selected from the deck and placed face down on the table. A small wooden chest that has been in full view on the table is opened and a small skull is removed by a small attached chain. The skull is given to the spectator who then holds the skull over each of the face down cards. Suddenly the eyes light up and glow an eerie red. Super Nail -- This is a solid psychokinetic effect. What you get is a large 6" nail and 4" piece of rubber tubing. The nail may be examined. With no switching the nail is placed in the rubber tube and then BENT at a 90 degree angle and back again. It is removed from the tube to be found unharmed. Now, here’s the rub. The tube thing is ok, but I have found a 10 times better routine based on an old spoon bending effect. What you do is display the nail and then WITHOUT putting it in the tube and holding it in full view, you let the nail appear to melt in the center and bend slowly to about 60 degrees in angle. You then take the nail in both hands and bend it back. It can new be set out for examination. You show a blue backed prediction card and lay it face down on the table. You now show a red backed deck and have card selected. The card is placed face up next to the blue backed prediction. Now....you turn over the prediction to show IT MATCHES THE SELECTED CARD. Next....the selection is turned over to show that it has a matching blue back instead of a red! But, the best is to come, you turn the deck over and spread the entire thing to show that all the faces are blank! NO rough and smooth. Wonder Readings by Knepper / Sikes -- Buying the 120 page spiral bound book and the 4 audio cassettes that are supplied may be one of the two or three best professional investments you will make as a magician or a mentalist. Although the material would seem to be more in line with what a mentalist would use the fact is that the addition of ‘psychic’, ‘personality analysis’, etc. readings to the programs offered by a magician can be a HUGE money maker. Wonderland Dollar DVD by Nick Brown -- This is one of those tricks that is … well …. PERFECT! Here is a trick that the first couple of times you perform it you won’t know ‘why’ it works yourself. The EFFECT is stunning to both magicians and lay folks, but it REALLY blows away non-magicians. It is EASY to do and RESETS automatically. It fits easily in your wallet always ready to go. And …. Well, and, this is one of the only tricks I have ever seen that can be repeated and be more amazing than the first time. Want more? This is very likely the best ‘add your own patter’ magic trick that I know of. The patter possibilities are endless. What is the effect? I am literally going to give this everything I have, but I have to tell you…THIS is a hard trick to describe, because it does not fall into any of the normal categories. The closest I can get would be a transposition. You have to DO this to get the full impact and see what a powerful piece of MAGIC it really is. With that said, I want you to imagine a dollar bill with a ¾” door cut in the center of the bill. The little door swings to both sides of the bill. Now, imagine that the door is open on the FACE side of the bill. You reach forth and grab the edge of the bill with your thumb and first finger of your right hand. Now, imagine that you want to get to the other side of the bill still holding onto the door. How would you do it? You could cram yourself through the little tiny doorway, but that would REALLY hurt! You could let go of the door, push it through and reach around and re-grab it, but that is about as magical as standing still in the middle of a field. How about this….as you watch I fold in the sides of the bill. Nothing has happened. Then I fold the bottom and top edges. Still nothing has happened. YOU confirm that you are still holding the door and you are still ON the face side of the bill. Then I make on more fold, you again confirm that NOTHING has happened and then….ZAP! I unfold the bill and you are now ON the . . .
