I am a great fan of the 'Dummies' books. I have a ton of Computer ones. It was not surprising to find that they had contracted for a 'Magic' book to add to their growing list of catagories outside their computer beginnings.

This is WELL WORTH your time and money. It is excellently written with a wealth of informative topics and a fine selection of first class tricks in the beginning to intermediate level.

This is a 369 page soft cover book. 19 Chapters and 3 appendixes. Cards, money, restaurant magic. A ton of stuff. Highly recommended!

Card College #5 by Giobbi -- What do you say about the final volume in the best card instruction series to have appeared in print? That’s it’s great? It is. 34 high end routines that use the techniques taught in the other four volumes of the series. This is superb material taught in the famous Giobbi style: Clear, concise and learnable. If you have the other volumes you really ‘have’ to have this one.

Cups and Balls Deluxe Chrome -- I have always loved The Cups and Balls, but it has always been tough to find a GOOD set that was affordable. These cups are not only affordable, but the are GREAT! They are light-weight, so doing alot of the flourishes are easy to do. They also have a "musical" ring to them. Each cup produces a different tone when struck. They almost sound like chimes. These are fantastic, and are now my cups of choice.

Die-A-Bolic by Viennamagic -- Die-A-Bolic by Viennamagic The World's Smartest Die! While the magician has his back turned (or is completely out of the room) a spectator secretly places a die on the table in any position and remembers the number on top. The spectator then moves the dice around before the magician turns back and even though there's no possibility that the magician could have seen anything he can state the spectator's selected number instantly! Easy to do Repeat as often as you like! The very clever principle does it all for you

Gold and Silver -- The Effect: Show two coins, a gold & silver. Place them in your closed hand. Remove one and place it in your pocket. Open your hand and both coins are still there! Repeating this several times, the coins continue to magically reappear! Finally your hand is opened and both coins have vanished! This is the exact same effect as Hopping Half done with special coins minted to look like an ancient gold and silver coin. VERY cool!

You take the coin and place it behind your back (You could also perform a vanish is you have the skill, etc.) and INSTANTLY come back out with a small box covered with rubber bands. You hand the box to the spectator. They remover the rubber bands and then open the box only to find a small box covered with rubber bands!!! They remove the bands and open the box only to find a small bag closed tightly with a rubber band!!! O.K., here is the KILLER....They open the small back and inside is the Borrowed, Sighed coin! Very, very easy and fun to do.

Mismade Dollar Bill -- The classic Dollar Bill Turned Inside Out. The perfect thing for any of the Bill Switch methods on the market. My suggestion: Money Morph.

More Self-Working Card Tricks -- 136 paperbound pages with 95 illustrations and 88 tricks. Some excellent material here. The better of the first two card books although Self Working Card Tricks is also well worth the money. This is easy stuff perfect for the beginner whether child or adult.

Reality Twister -- A spectator examines your new experimental "Reality Twister." It bears a remarkable resemblance to a normal hunk of clear plastic, about the size of a credit card. The spectator also looks over a pen ...which bears a remarkable resemblance to a normal hunk of pen. Your giddy-with-anticipation spectator holds the pen on her open palm as you hold the clear Reality Twister lens just above the pen so she can see the pen directly through the lens. You give the lens a twist ...and the center of the pen becomes transparent ...and then completely invisible! She can even see right through her spread fingers where the pen was a moment ago. Another twist of the Twister and the missing center of pen suddenly becomes visible! You then slowly twist the Reality Twister and in full view the center of the pen visibly distorts ...then melts itself into an extreme twist!!! Your astonished spectator immediately examines the deformed balloon doggie pen. There's no explanation ...except that the Reality Twister is not a thing you'd want near any of your favorite body parts. No switches, no extra pieces, uses just the one pen ...which you or the spectator can write with before and after the effect. No reset ...The Reality Twister is always ready to go! Ricochet -- The 4 kings and the 4 aces are removed from a deck of cards. The kings are placed face down in a pile in front of a spectator who covers them with her hands. The aces are held in the performers hands, and one at a time the aces change into the kings. The performer now reasons that if he holds the king the spectator must be covering the aces. The spectator turns her cards face up expecting to see aces, but instead finds kings. The spectators now look back at the performer's hands, and find the aces! This is EASY to do. In fact, there is even a handling which requires NO sleight-of-hand whatsoever, and is perfect for a beginner! This is GREAT. BUY IT NOW!

Scotch and Soda -- This is a classic set of coins with MANY different effect possible. In the "classic" handling, you display two coins, a silver half dollar and a copper Centavo. You hand the coins to a spectator who places then behind her back, and places one coin in each hand. You now ask her to show you the silver coin. She does so. Now, you ask her to show you the copper coin. She tries, but the copper coin is now a SILVER QUARTER! The copper coin is just GONE! This is a classic piece of magic that every magician should own! This unit is made by Johnson Products, and is TOP OF THE LINE! Highly recommended!

Self-Working Card Magic -- This little gem has 113 paperbound pages with 42 illustrations and 72 tricks. They are easy, fun and there is a good selection of different effects. Excellent beginning book for those who would rather not begin with the skill oriented material. For anyone who is interested in learning how to manipulate a deck of cards see, "The Basics of Expert Card Technique."

Self-Working Close-up Card Magic -- 128 page paperbound book with 121 helpful illustrations for the 56 effects. The third in the series of easy-to-do card trick books from Dover Publications and Karl Fulves. Good solid stuff and recommended.

Self-Working Coin Magic -- 148 pages and 251 illustrations in a softbound format make this one of the best books in the series. Most of the material is fairly easy as the title would imply. Many of the items are more in the 'betcha' realm than magic, but they are a good place to start.

Self-Working Handkerchief Magic -- 192 pages and 509 illustrations make this book easy to use. The 61 tricks cover a huge variety. Excellent material most needing just a simple handkerchief to perform.

Self-Working Mental Magic -- 121 pages and 73 usefull illustrations support 67 easy and fun 'fake' psychic tricks. This is a great and inexpensive way to start learning about this interesting area of the Magic Craft.

Self-Working Paper Magic -- 160 fun packed pages with 367 useful illustrations. 81 varied tricks with paper of different kinds. A great little book with a ton of classic material for ALL ages.

Self-Working Rope Magic by Karl Fulves -- 148 pages with perfect bound covers. It covers all the basics of magic with rope: Cut and Restored; knots of various kinds and much more. PLEASE, a WARNING, of the the books in the so called 'Self Working' series by Mr. Fulves this is the least self-working. Rope magic takes time, effort and practice. It is MORE than worth it as rope magic has and will have a great fascination for the watching audience.

Self-Working Table Magic -- 122pages with 185 illustrations. 97 tricks with everyday objects such as: Money, dice, pens and rubber bands. This is a GREAT little book for a beginner. Recommended.

Tarbell Course in Magic -- This is one of the great classics of magic literature. Truly amazing when you realize that they were originally published in 1920's. They are filled with useful information on tricks, sleights and routines.
